In the GTA sales activity are down across all housing types (See Stats below) and prices continue to rise triggered by lack of inventory. The newly announced Non-Resident Speculation Tax from 15% to 20%, now in effect province wide, likely won't make a huge dent in the GTA market other than perhaps less foreign investors in the new construction sector. According to Urbanization (the leading source in condo analysis) 30,844 new condos were sold in 2021 marking a 69% increase in volume from 2020. With over 200 cranes scraping our skies there is some relief in sight in the condo supply chain.
