Tip Top Lofts

Welcome to Tip Top Lofts

637 Lake Shore Blvd. W.

The ‘Tip Top Lofts’ is a former 1920s industrial building that was converted into condo lofts in Toronto. It is located just west of Bathurst Street on 637 Lake Shore Boulevard West, near the waterfront.

The building was the former headquarters of Tip Top Tailors Ltd., a Canadian menswear retailer. In 1972, the building was designated as a heritage structure by the City of Toronto and in spring 2002, Dylex sold the property to Context Development, which converted it into the condominium lofts there today. The conversion was designed by architectsAlliance of Toronto and included the addition of six stories on the roof. The neon ‘Tip Top Tailors’ rooftop sign was retained and given a slant to preserve some historical significance.

These units are beautifully finished with the lower floors offering original hard lofts with massive ‘mushroom style’ concrete pillars while the new upper floors of the condo are modern soft lofts. The Westerly view is very special especially in the summer time with certain units overlooking the famous yacht club.
